BORN HULL 1893.  SON OF ANDREW & KATE MEAD OF 8, MACHELL STREET, HULL.

HUSBAND OF MARGARET ELLEN CHARTERS, OF 9, BLUE BELL ENTRY, HIGH STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). THEY HAD ONE DAUGHTER, PRISCILLA, BORN 12TH JULY 1915 (WAR PENSION RECORDS).

BEFORE ENLISTING IN 1914, HE WORKED FOR HIS FATHER AS A COAL DEALER.

ENLISTED HULL. SERVED AS A DRIVER, INTHE 147TH ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY. HE DIED OF INFLUENZAN & PNEUMONIA JUST AFTER THE WAR ENDED, AGED 25.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 13TH DECEMBER 1918, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *

HIS WIDOW, MARRIED A CIVILIAN, GEORGE CHARTERS, ON 25/03/1919.

HIS TWO BROTHERS ALSO SERVED IN WW1 AND ONE WAS WOUNDED.
