BORN HULL 1889. SON OF ELIZA & MARY ELIZABETH MILLS, OF 8 NEW PARADES, SUTTON. HIS LATE WIFE, ALICE MILLS LIVED AT 5 ALBERT TERRACE, GREEN LANE, HULL. HE RESIDED AT 2 TREVOR STREET, GREEN LANE, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). BEFORE JOINING UP, HE WORKED AS A DEAL CARRIER FOR MESSRS, WADE & SONS, HULL.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS A SERGEANT WITH THE 6TH EAST YORKSHIRE PIONEERS. HE WAS REPORTED MISSING AND 15 MONTHS LATER CONFIRMED KILLED AT GALLIPOLI, ON 09/08/1915, AGED 27. HE WAS A WIDOWER AND LEFT A 5-YEAR-OLD SON, WHO WAS CARED FOR BY HIS SISTER, MRS COX.

HE IS LISTED ON LOCKWOOD STREET ROLL OF HONOUR. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 19/09/1916, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
