BORN BOSTON, LINCS, 1894. SON OF MARY ANN RASON (1873-1949) & ENOS MOODY (1876-1916), OF 14 JENNET GROVE, GILLETT STREET, HULL (CWGC & HULL DAILY MAIL ADDRESS, 03/01/1916). HE HAD SIX BROTHERS AND TWO SISTERS. WORKED AS A DOCK GATE MAN. HE ENLISTED IN HULL PALS ON 27/11/1914, BUT WAS DICHARGED AS MEDICALLY UNFIT FROM THE 13TH EYR. HE RE-JOINED ON 11/12/1915 AND SERVED AS A SAPPER, IN THE ROYAL ENGINEERS, INLAND WATERWAYS AND DOCK COMPANY. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 8 INCHES TALL, 34-36 INCH CHEST, CHURCH OF ENGLAND RELIGION. HE HAD RECENTLY BEEN DEMOBILIZED WHEN HE RETURNED TO FISHING AND WAS LOST AT SEA, ON 13/03/1919, AGED 25.
Built as the SCOTLAND for Hull Steam Fishing & Ice Co Ltd, Hull; Yard No 182; Launch Date: 17/03/1897; Lloyd´s Register 1918-19 No 758; In Jan 1919 sold to B. Knowles, Hull. The Hull trawler SCOTLAND (H348) sunk 15 miles SE of Flamborough Head, possibly mined.
