BORN ALFORD, LINCS, 18/02/1868. SON OF SAMUEL MOORE (1832-1868) & EMMA STEEL (1831-1906).

HE MARRIED AT ST LUKES CHURCH, HULL, ON 29/06/1890. HIS WIFE, HANNAH MARY HUNT (1871-1933), LIVED AT 73 , EDGAR STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS) AND 109, ENGLISH STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). THEY HAD FOURS SONS AND A DAUGHTER. HE WAS A BOILERMAKER AND PLATERS HELPER AT MESSRS, COOPER, NEPTUNE STREET, HESSLE ROAD.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, IN JUNE 1915. SERVED WITH THE 2ND/4TH EAST YORKSHIRES. DIED OF SICKNESS IN THE WEST INDIES, ON 26/08/1917, AGED 49. (INFLAMATION OF THE SPINAL CORD)

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 05/09/1917. *

HE LEFT A WIDOW AND SIX CHILDREN. HIS SON, SAM MOORE SERVED ON MINSWEEPERS AND ANOTHER SON, WALTER MOORE WITH THE EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, IN FRANCE. HIS WIDOW, HANNAH, RECEIVED A 35 WAR GRATUITY AND A WEEKLY PENSION OF 27 SHILLINGS AND SIXPENCE, FOR THREE DEPENDENT CHILDREN, ON 26/09/1917.
