BORN HULL 1878. SCULCOATES. SON OF RICHARD & ANN MORRIS, OF 4 NORFOLK PLACE, NORFOLK STREET, HULL. HE LIVED AT 2 DARLEY TERRACE, WILLIAM STREET , HULL, WITH HIS WIFE AND CHILDREN. A REGULAR SOLDIER AT THE OUTBREAK OF WAR. HE HAD ALREADY COMPLETED 12 YEARS ACTIVE SERVICE, SERVING IN SOUTH AFRICA AND INDIA. ENLISTED HULL. SENT TO FRANCE IN MAY 1915. KILLED IN ACTION AT YPRES, ON 26/06/1915, AGED 38. HE LEFT A WIDOW AND CHILDREN.

HIS NAME IS LISTED ON THE WILLIAM STREET MEMORIAL. HIS DETAILS, DEATH AND PHOTOGRAPH WERE REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 15TH JULY 1915, AND THE HULL TIMES ON 17TH JULY 1915. *
