Murray, John (Jack)

BORN HULL 1897. SON OF JOHN MURRAY (1871-1941) AND SUSANNAH ELIZABETH TUPLIN. HE RESIDED WITH HIS UNCLE, TOM AND AUNT, MARY, AT 13 NERO TERRACE, WATERLOO STREET, HULL. EMPLOYED BY T.B. HOLMES TANNERY. ENLISTED UNDER AGE SAYING HE WAS FOUR YEARS OLDER. HE SERVED WITH THE 4TH EAST YORKSHIRES. PROMOTED TO CORPORAL. WOUNDED AT ARMIENTIERES. TAKEN TO THE 22ND NORTHUMBERLAND FIELD AMBULANCE. DIED OF WOUNDS, NEXT DAY, ON 12/10/1915, AGED 18. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, SUSANNAH.

HE IS LISTED ON THE WATERLOO STREET ROLL OF HONOUR . (HDM 19/10/1915 & 12/10/1916).
