BORN ROOS, 1898. SON OF ARTHUR AND POLENA NALTON, OF 10 WORTLEY STREET, BRUMBY, SCUNTHORPE (CWGC ADDRESS). HE LIVED IN LOCKINGTON, BEVERLEY. ENLISTED HULL. SERVED WITH THE EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 203RD MOUNTED MACHINE GUN CORPS. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 17/04/1917, AGED 19. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER.

BURIED AT GORRE BRITISH AND INDIAN CEMETERY, PAS DE CALAIS, FRANCE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “SWEETLY SLEEPING IN JESUS IS OUR LOVED ONE FROM FATHER & MOTHER”
