Born Roundhay, Leeds, 1895. Son of Robert Wrigley Nichols and Emily Nicholls, of 15 Belvue Avenue, North Lane, Roundhay, Leeds. Worked at Leeds City, E L Works (1911 Census).

He enlisted at Hull. Served with the 10th West Yorkshire Regiment. Killed in action, on 30/10/1916, aged 21

His army effects were left to his mother, Hannah. His war Pension went to his brother, Walter Nicholls, at 4, Fulham Place, Beeston, Leeds (War Pension address).
