BORN HULL 1892. SON OF SOREN MARINUS NIELSON (1869-1949) AND EMMA CATHERINE LOUIS (1870-1917), 753 DAIRYCOATES. HIS FATHER WAS A TRAWLWE SKIPPER, BORN IN DENMARK, WHO BECAME A BRITISH SUBJECT IN 1904. HIS MOTHER WAS BORN IN LIVERPOOL. HE HAD THREE BROTHERS AND ONE SISTER.

APPRENTICE SEAMAN. CERTIFICATED ON 18/03/1913.

HE ENLISTED IN THE EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. ATTACHED TO THE KOYLI. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 2/09/1918, AGED 26. BURIED AT VAULX HILL AUSTRALIAN FIELD AMBULANCE CEMETERY.
