BORN HULL 1881. ELDEST SON OF THE LATE THOMAS NODEN (1845-1902) & ELLEN (NOBBS) AT 30, WILLIAMSON STREET AND 43, PELHAM STREET, HULL. HE WORKED AS A CRANE DRIVER FOR THE NORTH EASTERN RAILWAYS, AT ALEXANDRA DOCKS. LIVING WITH HIS WIDOWED MOTHER AT THIS ADDRESS.

HE ENLISTED AT PONTEFRACT, ON 30/10/1915. SERVED WITH THE 2ND YORK AND LANCASTER REGIMENT IN FRANCE FROM 02/02/1916. DIED OF ABDOMEN WOUNDS ON 26/09/1916. HE HAD SERVED FOR 333 DAYS IN THE ARMY. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, ELLEN.
HE LEFT BROTHER, CHARLES ERNEST NODEN AND SISTERS, MARY, ANN, GERTIE AND ELSIE.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 12/10/1916. BURIED AT BRONFAY FARM MILITARY CEMETERY, BRAY-SUR-SOMME. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION READ, “PEACE PERFECT PEACE FROM HIS LOVING MOTHER”.
HIS NAME WAS ALSO LISTED ON THE HULL WILLIAMSON STREET MEMORIAL.
