ADOPTED SON OF FRANCIS OSBOURNE (1862-1921) & HARRIET LEAF (1861-1942), OF 23 GUYS TERRACE, COLONIAL STREET (1901 CENSUS) AND 19, SIDMOUTH STREET, NEWLAND AVENUE, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HIS STEP FATHER WAS A TRAMWAY MOTORMAN. HE HAD ONE ELDER SISTER, FLORENCE MAY OSBOURNE (1885-1954)

H ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 3079 EYR. TRANSFERRED AS PRIVATE, 4402 & THEN 241938, 1/5TH BORDER REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 01/10/1916, AGED 18. COMMEMORATED ON THE THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, FRANCE. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FOSTER MOTHER, HARRIET.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 29/12/1917.
