Enlisted in Hull. Formerly 1113, East Yorkshire Regiment. Served in Egypt and France with the Hull Pals. Transferred to the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, Depot. Died at Guildford Hospital, Surrey, on 11/10/1918, aged 35. Buried at Goole Cemetery.
He left his army effects to the undertaker and Mrs A. Linton, guardian of son, Thomas.
