BORN HULL 1885. SON OF JOSEPH OUNSWORTH (1850-1931) & MATILDA ANN PINDER (1858-1917), OF 81, RAYWELL STREET, HULL. SON OF A BEE HOUSE KEEPER (1911 CENSUS). HE HAD NINE BROTHERS AND THE SISTERS. A RESERVIST, FRANK OUNSWORTH, WAS CALLED UP AT THE START OF WAR. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 18/08/1914. SERVED AS A MEDICAL SERGEANT, 1ST STATION HOSPITAL, ROYAL ARMY MEDICAL CORPS. HE DIED ON 20/05/1917, AGED 32.. HIS NAME IS LISTED ON ROYAL ARMY MEDICAL CORPS MEMORIAL AT WENLOCK BARRACKS, HULL.

HIS BROTHER, PRIVATE, ALFRED WHITTINGTON OUNSWORTH, 10TH KING’S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY, WAS ALSO KILLED ON 07/05/1917, AGED 34. THEIR MOTHER HAD DIED ON 01/03/1917. ANOTHER BROTHER, NORMAN OUNSWORTH DIED IN 1918, AGED 20.

THEIR DEATHS ARE REPORTED, WITH PHOTOGRAPHS, IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 6TH JUNE 1917. *
