BORN BEWHOLME, EAST YORKSHIRE, 1886. SON OF JAMES OVERFIELD (1852-1922) AND JANE ANN SCRIVENER (1852- ). HE HAD TWO SISTERS, CLARA AND CARRIE.

HE MARRIED AT SKIRLAUGH, IN 1904. HIS WIFE BESSIE ANN KEMP, LIVED AT 15, CARRISBROOK VILLAS, MARSHALL STREET, HULL AND 55, RAGLAN STREET, NEWLAND AVENUE, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESSES). THEY HAD THREE CHILDREN, ALBERT, PERCY AND DOROTHY.

HE JOINED THE POLICE IN 1905, AGED 21. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 9.5 INCHES TALL, BLUE EYES, DARK BROWN HAIR, HE THEN WORKED AS A FARM BAILIFF, AT WANDALE, BRIDLINGTON, EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE (1911 CENSUS)

ENLISTED HULL. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 41216, YORK AND LANCASTER REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED AS LANCE CORPORAL, 2ND NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 04/11/1918, AGED 32. BURIED IN FRANCE.
