BORN HULL 1893. SON OF ROBERT T, & LYDIA PALMER, OF TUNIS STREET, HULL.BEFORE THE WAR HE WORKED AS A RULLEYMAN FOR THE NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY LINE. ENLISTED AT THE OUTBREAK OF WAR ON 10/09/1914. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT 3 INCHES TALL, 132 LBS AND 33 INCH CHEST, BROWN EYES AND DARK BROWN HAIR. POSTED TO FRANCE ON 13/07/1915. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION ON 10/07/1916, AGED 25. MARRIED 29/12/1915. HE HAD BEEN MARRIED FOR ONLY SIX MONTHS WHEN HE WAS KILLED ON THE SOMME. HE LEFT A WIDOW, ROSE HANNAH HORTON, AT 5 MIDDLETON VILLAS, CLYDE STREET, HAWTHORNE AVENUE. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL WITH HIS PHOTO ON 27TH JULY 1916.*
