BORN PATRINGTON, 1900. SON OF ELEANOR PAWSON, OF 55 RAMSEY STREET, SCARBOROUGH.

HE ENLISTED AT BEVERLEY. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 27568 EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 22ND CHESHIRE REGIMENT. DIED OF MALARIA AT SALONIKA, ON 18/10/1918, AGED 18.

HE IS BURIED AT KIRECHKOI-HORTAKOI MILITARY CEMETERY, GREECE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “HE ANSWERED THE ROLL- CALL LOVE IS ETERNAL FROM MOTHER”

HIS IS ALOS COMMEMORATED ON THE PATRINGTON WW1 MEMORIAL AND AT ST PATRICK’S CHURCH THERE.
