Perry, William Henry

Born 27 Nov 1887 • Hull, East Yorkshire. Son of George W. Clark and Mary Jane Perry. A general Labourer (1911 Census). He married at Sculcoates, Hull in 1908. Husband of Martha Ellen Courtney (formerly Perry), of 7, Clio Terrace, Westmoreland Street, Hull and 2 Roberts Avenue, Central Street, Hull (War Pension address).

He enlisted in Hull. Formerly, Private, 3621, 10th East Yorkshire Regiment. Served in Egypt and France. Transferred to the 10th King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Killed in action, on 25/09/1916, aged 28. His army effects were left to his widow, Martha and four children.

He is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial to the missing, on the Somme.
