Pincott, Charles

Born Chippon Sudbury, Gloucestershire, 1867. Married Rose Cornell, at the Registry Office Cambridge, in 1904.

A General Labourer, living at 15, Stanley Terrace, Lee Smith Street, Hull (1911 Census), with his wife, Rose and three children.

In 1915, living at 1, Joel’s Avenue, Hotham Street, Hull (army address), now with five children. His occupation was Navvy. Described as 5 foot, 1″ tall, 37-40″ chest, 118 lbs weigh, good physical development.

He enlisted in Hull, on 10th May 1915. Trained at Aldershot. Posted to France, on 1st May 1915. Served with the 19th Duke of Cambridge’s Own (Middlesex) Regiment, a Pioneer Battalion. Killed in action on 06/08/1916, aged 49. He had served in the army for 1 years and 89 days.

Buried at the London Rifle Brigade cemetery, Belgium. His grave inscription, reads, YEARS ROLL BY AND STILL WE MISS YOU

His widow Rose and five children, returned to 67, New Street, Cambridge (war pension address).
