BORN LOCKINGTON 1899. ELDEST SON OF JOHN THOMAS POTTER (1872-1929) & FRANCES DEIGHTON (1872-1951), OF 12, DERWENT AVENUE, ALFONSO STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). SON OF A RAILWAY TICKET EXAMINER. HE HAD THREE BROTHERS AND TWO SISTERS.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 341, EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 11TH ROYAL SCOTS. HE DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 28/05/1918, AGED 19. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, FRANCES.
