BORN HULL 28/04/1896. SON OF JOSEPH & KATE RALPH, OF  23, EGGINGTON STREET, CHARLES STREET, HULL, (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE LIVED WITH HIS GRANDPARENTS. HE WAS SON OF A POLICE CONSTABLE. HE WAS EMPLOYED BY THE BRITISH GAS LIGHT COMPANY AND WORKED AT THEIR SHOW ROOMS IN KING EDWARD STREET, HULL.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 1616, EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED AS LANCE CORPORAL, 10TH KING’S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 04/10/1917, AGED 21. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER, JOSEPH, AT THIS PENSION LEDGER ADDRESS.

HE IS BURIED AT YPRES, BELGIUM. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE  HULL DAILYMAIL, ON 29/10/1917. *

HIS NAME IS LISTED ON THE BRITISH GAS LIGHT AND COKE COMPANY WW1 MEMORIAL, WHICH IS KEPT AT THE FAKENHAM GAS MUSEUM, NORFOLK.
