BORN HULL 01/03/1893. SON OF ELIJAH AND JULIA RAYNER. A PRINTER’S BOY. HE ENLISTED IN THE ROYAL NAVY FOR 12 YEARS IN 1911. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT 5 INCHES TALL, 33 INCH CHEST, BROWN HAIR, BLUE EYES, FRESH COMPLEXION, SCARS ON NOSE AND FOREHEAD. SERVED AS LEADING SEAMAN, ON THE THE J6 SUBMARINE. DROWNED THROUGH ACCIDENTAL LOSS OF VESSEL IN THE NORTH SEA, ON 15/10/1918, AGED 24.

HIS WIFE JANE ALICE BURCH LIVED AT 1 WOODS STREET, CROFTON, BLYTH, NORTHUMBERLAND (NAVAL RECORDS ADDRESS). SHE THEN MOVED TO RAWSON STREET, KURRIE KURRIE, NEW SOUTH WALES, AUSTRALIA (CWGC RECORDS)
