Born Elsham, Lincolnshire, 1886. Son of Jabez and Anne Reed. Enlisted Beverley. Employed as a domestic Groom. Married Lizzie Drury on 13/09/1911 at Burton On Stather, Lincolnshire, England. Resided at Rose Vale, Burton on Stather, Doncaster, Lincolnshire.
Enlisted Beverley. Served as a Gummer, in the 153rd Royal Garrison Artillery. Died of wounds received in action, at the 5th Casualty Clearing Station, on 28/10/1918, aged 32. His army effects were left to his widow, Lizzie. He is commemorated on the Leven ww1 Memorial, Hull.
