EMPLOYED AS A SHIP’S PLUMBER. HE ENLISTED IN HULL ON 02/05/1910. SERVED AS A SAPPER, (157) IN THE 2/1ST EAST RIDING ROYAL ENGINEERS TERRITORIAL FORCE. HE WAS DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT 9 INCHES TALL, 186 LBS WIGHT, 38.5 INCH CHEST, BLUE EYES, DARK BROWN HAIR, FAINT TATTOO ON LEFT FOREARM, SCAR ON THE BACK OF RIGHT HAND AND WESLEYAN RELIGION. HE RE-ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 01/08/1916. ARRIVED FRANCE, 19/05/1917. DIED OF BULLET WOUNDS TO THE HEAD AND LEFT ARM, ON 04/09/1917, AGED 27, AT THE 33RD CASUALTY CLEARING STATION. HE HAD SERVED FOR SIX YEARS AND 24 DAYS.
HIS BROTHER, PTE, WILLIAM RENNARD, KINGS ROYAL RIFLE CORPS, WAS KILLED AT MESSINES ON 05/11/1914, AGED 27. HE LEFT ANOTHER BROTHER, AND THREE SISTERS.
