Richards, Enoch Thomas

BORN SUTTON, 1876. SON OF JOHN E AND ELIZA J RICHARDS.

HUSBAND OF SUSAN AT 1, WHITBY STREET, CLEVELAND STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). THEY HAD TWO CHILDREN.

A PROFESSIONAL SOLDIER, WHO HAD SERVED IN THE BOER WAR. HE ENLISTED AT BEVERLEY. SERVED AS A SERGEANT, WITH THE 2ND KINGS OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY. ARRIVED IN FRANCE WITH THE BRITISH EXPEDITIONARY FORCE. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 30/10/1914, AGED 38. HIS BODY WAS NEVER FOUND AND HE IS COMMEMORATED ON LE TOURET MEMORIAL, FRANCE.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS CHILDREN, MARY ELIZABETH AND JOHN WILLIAM RICHARDS.
HIS DEATH AND ADDRESS WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 18/02/1916. *
