BORN HULL 1899. SECOND SON OF PTE, GEORGE ALFRED RICKETTS, ASC, & CLARA (DONKIN), AT 1, EPWORTH GROVE, EPWORTH STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).

A NEEDLER’S WORKER, WORKING AT THE BOURNEMOUTH STREET, FACTORY.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY TR/5/18789, TERRITORIAL REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 1/5TH NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 27/05/1918, AGED 19. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE SOISSONS MEMORIAL, AISNE, FRANCE.

HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE CLIFTON STREET SCHOOL ROLL OF HONOUR AND THE NEEDLER’S WW1 MEMORIAL PLAQUE..

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 24TH JUNE 1918, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *

CONDOLENCES WERE LEFT BY HIS MOTHER, UNCLE GEORGE, AND AUNT ANN. UNCLE JACK AND AUNT, KATE, GRANDMA, AUNTS AND COUSINS. (HDM 24/06/1918)
