Husband of Sarah Ridsdill, of 28, Gillett St., Hessle Rd., Hull. Alternative Commemoration – buried in Hull (Holy Trinity, Hessle Road) Cemetery.
Strymon, built by Cook, Welton & Gemmell, Hull in 1899 and operated at the time of her loss by Royal Navy, was a British navy trawler of 198 tons.
On October 27th, 1917, Strymon was sunk by a mine from the German submarine UC-11 (Karl Dobberstein), off the Shipwash lightvessel. 10 persons were lost.
