BORN HULL 1887. SON OF NORAH KELLY (1858-1905) AND EDWARD ROBERTS OF 240 BEVERLEY ROAD AND AT 13 , DERBY STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION AND MILITARY ADDRESS). A TATTERS LABOURER. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT 5 INCHES TALL. 141 LBS WEIGHT, 34 INCH CHEST, A SLIGHT SPEECH IMPEDIMENT.

HE ENLISTED IN THE HULL PALS, ON 28/11/1914, AGED 27. SERVED WITH THE 13TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT IN EGYPT, AND ARRIVED IN FRANCE, ON 08/03/1916. HE DIED OF WOUNDS, 18/07/1916, AGED 29. HE HAD SERVED FOR ONE YEAR AND 234 DAYS. BURIED AT MELVILLE COMMUNAL CEMETERY, FRANCE.

HE LEFT SIBLINGS JOHN, KATHLEEN & PAULINE AT THIS ADDRESS -13 DERBY STREET, HULL.

HE WAS UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO BOTH OF HIS SISTERS.
