Robinson, George Gibson

Born Hull 1884. Son of Bethel Robinson (1840-1916) and Hannah Maria Gibson (1843-1920). He had five rothers and one sister.

Married at St Philips, Hull, on 28 Mar 1908. Husband of Emma Amelia Rogers (1886-1835), at 45, West Dock Avenue, Hull (War Pension address). They had three children, Ada Marjorie, Rea Muriel and George Gibson Robinson. He had served in the East Yorkshire Volunteers for five years before resigning. He was an Iron worker and worked as a “very good”, Machinist for Reckitt and Sons, Limited.

He enlisted at Hull, on 22nd September 1914, aged 30. Served as a Sapper, in the Royal Engineers. Appointed lance Corporal, on 31st July 1915. Discharged on 24th February 1919. Classed as a Proficient and Superior Machinist.

Died at Hull, 14th May 1924. Awarded the British War Medal and Victory Medal.
