Born Hull October 1886. Third Son of Robert William Robinson and Annie Robinson, of 21 Norwood street, Hull. He had three brothers, Charles, Sidney and Alfred and six sisters, Eliza, Maude, Florence, Ethel, Dora and Beatrice. He worked as a Stock Taker/Accountant for the Hull & Barnsley Railway. He had enlisted in the 1/4th EYR Territorials on 2nd April 1908.
Husband of Ellison Robinson (born 18/7/1886) of 92, Freehold Street, Hull (CWGC Address).
Enlisted in Hull. Served with the 1/4th EYR. Posted to France, on 18/4/1915. Killed in Action, shot by a Sniper 26th May 1915 aged 28 Years. He had served with the Regiment for 7 years and 55 days.
Commemorated on the Ypres Menin Gate Memorial, Belgium.
Recorded as “Killed”, on the South Parade Roll of Honour, Hull, also recorded Norwood Street Shrine Roll of Honour.
His death was reported in the Hull Times, on 05/06/1915, with his photograph.
