BORN WINESTEAD 23/07/1862. SON OF WILLIAM ROBINSON AND ANN HARMAN (1842-1870). WORKED AS A GENERAL LABOURER AND LIVED MARFLEET, AND STONEFERRY.

HE SERVED AS AN ACTING LANCE CORPORAL, WITH THE 9TH LABOUR BATTALION, ROYAL ENGINEERS AND WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 25/07/1917, AGED 55.

HE IS BURIED AT CANADA FARM CEMETERY, BELGIUM. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW CLARA (1861-1937) & THEIR TWO DAUGHTERS, FLORENCE AND LILY, WHO LIVED AT 24 CEYLON STREET, MARFLEET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS).

HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON HULL’S CITY ENGINEERS MEMORIAL, PARK STREET, HULL AND ON THE MARFLEET ROLL OF HONOUR, HULL.
