Lieutenant Edward Moore Robson M.C.
Home at Pembroke Lodge. Pocklington, Yorks. Born at Pocklington in East Yorkshire in 1890, he became a barrister at Lincolns Inn in London. Joined the 5th Btn as a 2nd Lt at Pont de Nieppe near Armentieres on July 19th 1915 and fought in all the subsequent actions. He was killed on April 11th aged 28 during a strong enemy assault on the Btn’s exposed positions. His brother, Lt Col William Robson, served with the 5th Btn and had been killed shortly before this on 28th March in the fighting on the Somme with the 6th DLI. Commemorated at Ploegsteert Memorial.
