HE MARRIED AT HULL, APRIL 1914, AGED 28. WIFE MARIA ELIZABETH LYNCH (1886-1979), LIVED AT, 11, EBOR AVENUE, EASTBOUNE STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS) AND 90, EASTBOURNE STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). THEY HAD FOUR CHILDREN (TWO DAUGHTERS, BEATRICE AND VIOLET AND TWO SONS, DANIEL AND ALBERT)

HIS NAME IS LISTED ON ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH MEMORIAL, NEWINGTON, HULL.

JASPER, Admiralty-owned trawler, 221/1912, previously Kingston Steam Trawling, purchased by Admiralty pre-war, 1-6pdr, Admiralty No.164, commissioned as minesweeper, Lt William St Clair Fleming RNR. Taking part in sweeping field laid by German auxiliary minelayer Meteor in Moray Firth, mined at 0935 on 26th August 1915 and sank quickly (8 ratings killed).
