A FORMER CLERK FOR THE NORTH EASTERN RAILWAYS. HE ENLISTED IN HULL AS PRIVATE, 3007, 10TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. ARRIVED IN FRANCE, ON 15/08/1915. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 200867, 1/4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. HE HAD BEEN ON ACTIVE SERVICE FOR ONE YEAR AND TEN MONTHS. KILLED IN ACTION, AT ARRAS, ON 23/04/1917, AGED 19. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 4TH MAY 1917, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
