BORN HULL 02/06/1883. SON OF JOHN SANDERSON (1852-1927) & HANNAH GOOLE (1853-1924). HE MARRIED BERTH MORAN, IN 1905. HIS WIFE BERTHA LIVED AT THIS CWGC ADDRESS. HE SERVED IN THE ROYAL NAVAL RESERVE. LOST AT SEA, ON 07/07/1917, AGED 34. HE IS PHOTOGRAPHED HERE WITH HIS MOTHER AND BROTHERS..
Kelvin, built by Cochrane & Sons, Ltd., Selby in 1915 and operated at the time of her loss by Royal Navy, was a British navy trawler of 322 tons.
On July 7th, 1917, Kelvin was sunk by a mine from the German submarine UC-4 (Erich Hecht), east of Alderburgh (barrage 385). 5 persons were lost.
