BORN WALLSALL, STAFFORDSHIRE, 1889. KNOWN AS “ARCHIE”. SON OF THOMAS PAGNET SENIOR AND KATE HALSTEAD. HE LIVED IN HULL. MARRIED EVA QUEST (1878-1941) AT HULL, IN 1910. HE WORKED AS A PHOTOGRAPHER, FOR MESSRS, PARRISH & BERRY, 3 WALTHAM STREET, HULL. HE LIVED AT 9 NELSON AVENUE, WELLINGTON LANCE, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). THEIR SON JACK WAS BORN IN 1914.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, IN APRIL 1917 AND WENT TO FRANCE IN JULY 1917. SERVED WITH THE 1/4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. AWARDED THE MILITARY MEDAL FOR CARRYING WOUNDED UNDER HEAVY SHELL FIRE, ON 13/12/1917.

HE DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 21/04/1918, AGED 29. BURIED IN BELGIUM. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 30/01/1918. *

HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE BEVERLEY WAR MEMORIAL.

HE IS BURIED AT TOURNAI COMMUNAL CEMETERY ALLIED EXTENSION, HAINAUT, BELGIUM. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “ONLY SLEEPING UNTIL THE DAY BREAKS, SADLY MISSED BY LOVING WIFE & SON”
