BORN HULL 1879. SON OF FRED & ANNIE – 134 CHILTERN ST. WIFE ANNIE ELIZABETH SEWARD OF  46  MADELEY STREET, HULL AND 112 WOODCOCK STREET, HULL. (HDM ADDRESS 25/10/1916). BEFORE ENLISTING HE WORKED AS A BOLIER MAKER FOR THE HUMBER SHIPWRIGHT COMPANY.NHE WAS A SKILLFUL PIANIST AND WAS WELL KNOWN IN THE HULL PUBS AND CLUBS. HE HAD BEEN ON ACTIVE SERVICE FOR ONLY FIVE MONTHS BEFORE HE WAS KILLED HE LEFT A WIDOW AND FIVE CHILDREN. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 25TH OCTOBER 1916, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH.*
