HE ENLISTED HULL. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 07/11/1918, AGED 33. UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE RETURNED TO HIS MOTHER, ELLEN. THIS WAS HIS 1918 ABSENT VOTERS ADDRESS. HE LEFT BROTHER, WILLIAM AND SISTER MARY. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION READS, “HE DIED THAT WE MIGHT LIVE”
