BORN HULL 10/02/1894. ELDEST SON OF ELIZABETH SHAW, OF 61, SEATON STREET, HULL AND 5, WILLIAM SQUARE, MASON STREET, HULL (PENSION LEDGER ADDRESS). WORKED AS A WATER MAN.

HE SERVED IN THE ROYAL NAVAL RESERVE, DURING THE WAR. ON 03/06/1918, HMT ‘ST JOHN H81’ WAS CAPTURED BY UB-105 AND SUNK BY GUNFIRE, 45 MILES NORTH OF TORY ISLAND. FOUR LIVES WERE LOST, ON 03/06/1918. HE WAS 24 YEARS OLD.

HENRY SHAW WAS LISTED ON THE NEW GEORGE STREET ROLL OF HONOUR (HDM, 03/10/1916), ON THE LIVERPOOL STREET SHRINE, HESSLE ROAD, HULL AND ON HULL’S CITY ENGINEERS MEMORIAL, PARK STREET, HULL
