Born Hull, 28/05/1897. Son of Arthur and Lilian Shaw, of 25, Discount Court, St James Street, Hull (1911 Census) and 10, Arthur Terrace, Wassand Street, Hull (War Pension Address). He had one brother and four sisters.
He enlisted at Leeds. Served as Private, 40238, in the 18th Prince of Wales’s Own (West Yorkshire) Regiment. Killed in action, on 03/05/1917, aged 19.
Commemorated on the Arras Memorial, France.
