Born Hawerby, Lincolnshire, 1884. Son of Fanny (1865-1955) and Charles William Simons (1862-1952), of 2, South View, Anlaby Common, Hull (War Pension address). Son of a Builder’s Labourer. He had one brother and five sisters. Worked as a Railway Pharmacist and working Labourer.
He enlisted in Hull. Served with the 1st Coldstream Guards. Killed in action, on 25/01/1915
Commemorated at Le Touret Memorial, France. His army effects were left to his father Charles.
