Simpson, Gladstone

Born Barnsley, 1899. Son of Willoughby and Eliza Hannah Simpson, of Spring Gardens, Mapplewell, Barnsley. Son of a Coal Miner.

He enlisted in Hull. Served with the 1st King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Died of wounds, on 10/06/1915, aged 16. Buried in at Wormhoudt, France, which contains 20 CWGC graves. His army effects were left to his mother, Eliza Ann.

His grave, reads LAID IN A HERO’S GRAVE AT THE AGE OF 16 YEARS AND 9 MONTHS TILL WE MEET AGAIN
