BORN HULL 1892. ENLISTED HULL 1914. SON OF ROBERT WILLIAM SISSON & SELINA (HODGSON) OF 204 REGENT STREET, ANLABY ROAD, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE WAS ONE OF FIVE SONS SERVING IN THE WAR AND THE FAMILY WERE FEATURED IN THE HULL DAILTY MAIL.
Hull Pals Memorial Post. PRIVATE ALBERT EDWARD SISSON 225291. Born 1892, the fifth of twelve children to Robert and Selina Sisson of 204 Regent Street, Hessle Road, Hull. Albert was a Bottle Washer by trade at the time of the 1911 Census, but enlisted to fight with the 10th Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment. He was killed in action on 25th March 1918 in the trenches west of Ervillers trying to hold up the German advance following the onset of their Spring Offensive. His body was never recovered and his name is commemorated on Bays 4-5 of the Arras Memorial to the missing.
