Skinner, Frank

Born Beverley 1894. His army address was 14 Old West Market Place, Beverley. A Shoe Maker Repairer. Son of Charles Arnott Skinner and Annie Skinner, of 14 Old West Market Place, Beverley. Enlisted Hull.  Served with the 2nd East Yorkshire Regiment. He died of dysentery, at hospital, in Egypt on 13 Dec 1916, aged 22. He had spent twelve weeks in hospital after being wounded in Salonika. Frank Skinner played for Hull Kingston Rover (but not the First team), along with other brothers, and was well know in rugby circles. His death was reported in the Hull Daily Mail, on 28/12/1916, with his photograph. his war pension went to his mother and unmarried wife, Miss Clara Wilson, at Holly Villas, New Village Road, Cottingham.

His brother, Sergeant, T. Skinner, RGA, and another brother also played for Hull Kingston Rovers.
