BORN HULL 15/05/1891. SON OF MRS ALICE FREER & TOM HERBERT SLIGHT. SON OF A TAILOR. EDUCATED AT CONSTABLE STREET COUNCIL SCHOOL. EMPLOYED AS A TAILORS APPRENTICE, IN BUSINESS WITH HIS FATHER, AT 5 CHARLES STREET, HULL.

HE ENLISTED IN THE NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS, ON 27/06/1916. SERVED IN FRANCE FROM 01/11/1916. WOUNDED BY GAS AT ARMENTIERES. DIED AT NO:3 CANADIAN HOSPITAL, OF GAS POISONING, ON 13/04/1918. BURIED AT BOULONGE CEMETERY. HE WAS 26 YEARS OLD AND UNMARRIED.
HE IS RECORDED IN THE DE RUVIGNY ROLL OF HONOUR, VOLUME 4, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 19/04/1918. *
