BORN HULL 1903. SON OF WILLIAM HENRY & EDITH SMITH, OF 13 WALKER STREET, HULL. DROWNED WHEN HIS SCHOONER WASLOST AT SEA, AGED 15. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HDM ON 07/12/1918. NO CWGC RECORDS.
On November 15th, 1918, the British wooden schooner GLENDALOUGH, on voyage from Hull & Yarmouth to Boulogne with a cargo of coal, was wrecked on Longnose, Black Deep.
