HE ENLISTED BEVERLEY, ON 21/10/1914. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 2611, YORKSHIRE REGIMENT AND 201768, ROYAL SCOTS FUSILIERS. SERVED AS AN OFFICER’S BATMAN ON THE HOME FRONT HEAD QUARTERS. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 20/02/1918. WOUNDED ON 23/03/1918 AND RETURNED HOME. RETURNED TO FRANCE, ON 14/06/1918. KILLED 01/08/1918, AGED 22.

HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE BEVERLEY WAR MEMORIAL, MEMORIAL GARDENS.

BURIED A RAPERIE BRITISH CEMETERY, VILLEMONTOIRET, AISNE, FRANCE.
