Spittlehouse, Thomas Henry

Born East Halton, Lincs, 1883. Son of Isaac and Caroline Spittlehouse, of East Halton, Lincs;

Married at Glanfodr, Brigg, Lincs., in 1902. Husband of Harriet Ann Simpson, of Anlaby Park Rd., Hessle, Yorks. They had two sons, Allan and Leonard.

Worked as a brickmaker, at Whiting Mill yard, Second Lane, Hessle (1911 census). Described as 5 foot, 6 inches tall, 151 lbs, 38 inch chest, very good build, Wesleyan religion.

Enlisted at Hull, on 01/12/1914. Served as Gunner, 194, 124th ( 2nd Hull Heavy Battery), RGA. Left for France, on 28/04/1916. Killed in action, on 25/07/1916, aged 33.
