BORN SUNK ISLAND 1885. SON OF CHARLES & AGNES M STABLER, OF SUNK ISLAND, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). SON OF A FARM LABOURER.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY,  4442, 146Th HULL HEAVY BRIGADE, R.G.A. TRANSFERRED AS A GUNNER, WITH 146TH ROYAL GARRISON ARTILLERY. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 27/05/1917, AGED 32. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER, CHARLES.

HE IS BURIED AT DRANOUTRE MILITARY CEMETERY, WEST-VLAANDEREN, BELGIUM.

HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE SWINE CHURCH, ROLL OF HONOUR.
