BORN HULL 1881. SON OF WILLIAM STANTON (1850-1934) AND SARAH PROCTOR (1849-1911). HE HAD TWO BROTHERS AND FIVE SISTERS.

MARRIED AT THE WESLEYAN CHURCH CHAPEL, ST GEORGES ROAD, HULL, ON 13TH JULY 1902. HUSBAND OF  MARY ANN VERA BRYANT (1881- ), AT 30, PARROTT STREET, SELBY STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). THEY HAD SIX CHILDREN, MINNIE, EDNA, ELSIE, ETHEL, WILLIAM AND HORACE.

WORKED AS A GEBERAL LABOURER. HE ALSO SPENT TIME AS A PRISONER, IN HEDON ROAD, HULL JAIL (1911 CENSUS).

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 30TH SEPTEMBER 1915. SERVED WITH THE 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 22/08/1917, AGED 36. BURIED AT DUISANS BRITISH CEMETERY, FRANCE.
