Born 4 Aug 1864 • Kingston On Hull, Yorkshire, England. Son William Stephenson (1831-1880) and Emily Ann Stocks (1831-1888). A Professional Soldier. He served in India, Hong Kong and South Africa. He married Elinor Forbes Ticknell, at Portsea Island, Hampshire, in 1896. They had four children. He commanded the 3rd Middlesex Regiment and was killed in action, at Ypres, on 23/04/1915, aged 46. He is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, to the missing. Father of Gwendoline Dawes (nee Stephenson), of 16A, De Parys Avenue, Bedford. He left £10,714 to his widow in his will, at this probate address.
